System Thinking Is Good for Who?
If you think you are a problem solver, always trying to deal with issues and figure out how it works, I suggest you learn something about system thinking. If you are annoyed by the problems happening over and over again, system thinking can also be a good helper.
System thinking is a conventional concept, which declares that the world is closely related in each part. Each part of the world will affect the others in a certain way. Some may be noticeable while some are not.
The change of concept toward WORK
People nowadays are caring about the value of WORK.
The belief about WORK in the past is “satisfy the need in life
(ex. higher social status, higher wealth)”
the belief about WORK at present is “feel valuable during the work”, “create, build, construct something meaningful”
This change proves that the world is growing and goals pursued by people become more spiritual.
The Relationship between The Complicated World and Us
The modern world is getting more complicated than in the past.
We live in the consequence of our own behaviors, and the decisions made by others, including the government, and large enterprises. Now, the world is full of complicated issues, and problems that cannot be solved easily.
Everyone is doing their best to deal with them but ultimately fails.
If so, you may wonder how can we change the present situation? The answer is, we can change it with the aid of LOO (Learning-Oriented Organization).
Learning-Oriented Organization
A learning-oriented organization (LOO) is one that makes people work and study closely.
Here are the characteristics of a LOO.
- people work efficiently together
- people have a high level of mutual trust
- people work in a complementary way
- people work for big mutual goals and devote all of themselves
You may wonder what is it like if an organization satisfied the conditions listed above? I think NBA basketball may be a good example, right? And some teams achieve extraordinary achievements in history like Celtics.
Team Working Becomes Our Daily Work Life
We all have the experience of working as a team.
But do we really know how to work as a team? Do we know how to set goals that encourage the whole? Do we know how to work complementary?
If we work as a LOO, what we can achieve, what we can change in the world?
You may have ideas and doubts about System Thinking and the LOO. I will share more of them as I can.
